What is a PTA?

PTA stands for Parent Teacher Association. This group advocates for students and families, updates parents and families about the school plan and runs activities for parents and families.

PTAs can support schools in a number of ways, including hosting parent workshops, organizing activities for families—both academic and social raising funds, running volunteer events, etc.

Learn more about PTAs at: https://www.schools.nyc.gov/get-involved/families/parent-associations

What is the SLT?

SLT stands for Student Leadership Team. The SLT plays an important role in school-based decision-making. They provide ongoing evaluations of a school's educational programs and their impact on student achievement and help make school cultures more collaborative.
