  • Open Access will be once a month. We have made Open Access a more interactive experience where you participate in the learning your child is doing in the classroom. You will “walk in your child’s footsteps" as you participate with your child in the learning process. 

  • Interested in Bus Service or a MetroCard for your child? Applications are available in the Main Office or you can email davvento@schools.nyc.gov for more information. 

  • Family Income Inquiry Forms help schools receive money for their programs. We are asking you to apply online at https://www.myschoolapps.com

  • Have you moved or changed schools? Please contact the school secretary, Mrs. D'Anna Avvento, at 718-4521-9560 or email her to find out more about the discharge/transfer process at davvento@schools.nyc.gov

  • Always remember to contact the school in the morning if your child is going to be absent for the school day! If your child is going to the doctor, bring them in with the doctor's note! It will be coded as an excused absence. 

  • Please stay informed by visiting the NYC DOE website at https://www.schools.nyc.gov/

  • Registration for the 2023-2034 school year is still open! Please come to the school building with the necessary documents for registration. Email the pupil accounting secretary at davvento@schools.nyc.gov or call the school at 718-421-9560 if you have any questions and to make an appointment.

May 2024

  • School resumes on May 1st from Spring Recess. 

  • Mother's Day Boutique is from May 2nd-May 6th.

  • Cinco de Mayo is May 5th!

  • Teacher Appreciation Week is the week of May 6th!

  • New York State Math Exam (NYS Math) for the 3rd and 4th grade is from May 7th to May 8th. 

  • New York State Math Exam (NYS Math) for the 5th grade is from May 9th to May 10th.

  • Virtual Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on May 9th from 4:30-7:30PM. 

  • New York State Science Exam (NYS Science) for the 5th grade is on May 15th.

  • Parent Engagement Dance Around the World is on May 22nd from 5:00-6:30PM. RSVP's are required.

  • Open Access is on May 24th from 9:00-9:50AM. 

  • Breakfast with the Principal is on May 24th at 9:50AM. 

  • Movie Night at the Kent Theater is on May 24th. 

  • NO SCHOOL on May 27th for Memorial Day!

  • PTA Meeting and Elections is on May 29th at 6:00PM. Please contact our Parent Coordinator, Angela Gonzalez, at agonzalez2@schools.nyc.gov for assistance or for more information. 

  • Birthday Celebrations are to be held on May 31st.

End of the School Year Updates:

  • Summer Rising Update: For those who applied, by the March 25 deadline, results were released in mid-April. If you missed the deadline to apply, you can still express interests through waitlists. Programs use waitlists to fill any open seats after offers are made. 

  • No school on May 27th for Memorial Day

  • No school on June 6th & 7th 

  • No school on June 17th for Eid al-Adha

  • No school on June 19th for Juneteenth

  • Grade 5 Graduation is scheduled for June 21st. 

  • Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Stepping-Up Assembly is scheduled on June 24th. 

  • Last day of school is June 26th!
